Lions Club History

Since 1917, Lions clubs have offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. From involving members in projects as local as cleaning up an area park or as far-reaching as bringing sight to the world's blind, Lions clubs have always embraced those committed to building a brighter future for their community.

Today with more than 46,000 clubs in 194 countries and geographical areas, Lions have expanded their focus to help meet the ever-increasing needs of our global community.

Our programs are continually changing to meet new needs and greater demands, but our mission has never wavered: "We Serve."

Our Club

We at the Hesperia Lions Club have been serving our West Michigan community for over 50 years. We help provide eyeglasses to those in need, donate to leader dogs for the blind, sponsor an Easter egg hunt and Halloween event for local school children, provide scholorships to local high school seniors, and donate our time and funds to other local causes.

Our biggest local fundraisers include our annual white cane sale in the spring (we're the guys standing at the corner wearing the gold vests!), our annual BBQ Chicken dinner sale on the 4th of July, our annual golf tournament in the late summer, our poker tournaments, and donations from community residents.

The cold weather and snow-covered grass didn't stop Hesperia children from attending our annual Easter Egg Hunt again this year.
